Michigan Tuition Grant (MTG) - Funding for the MTG has been reinstated as of 12/09/2019!  This grant is available again!

Students who graduate from high school in Michigan with a diploma or certificate of completion or achieved a high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or after will be eligible for more financial aid from the State of Michigan:

The MTG is based on financial need for use at private, nonprofit, degree-granting colleges and universities in Michigan. The first institution listed under your college choice will be considered your priority school, and that is where the award will be delivered. students are responsible for notifying ssg of a change in their college choice.  Click on the FACT SHEET button below for more information.

 

TIP encourages eligible Medicaid recipients to complete high school by providing tuition assistance for college.  Students who have (or have had) Medicaid coverage1 for 24 months within a 36-consecutive month period prior to high school completion will be identified by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) as having met the Medicaid eligibility requirement.  If you think you are eligible click the buttons below for more information.

The Police Officer’s and Fire Fighter’s Survivor Tuition Act provides for the waiver of tuition at a Michigan community college or public university for children and surviving spouses of Michigan police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Children of Veterans Tuition Grant (CVTG)

The Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Act is designed to provide undergraduate tuition assistance to certain children older than 16 and less than 26 years of age who have been Michigan residents for the 12 months prior to application. To be eligible a student must be the natural or adopted child of a Michigan veteran.  Click on the buttons below for information and application to determine eligibility.

The Fostering Futures Scholarship (FFS), a State of Michigan* program, provides scholarships to young
adults who have experienced foster care.  Awards are paid directly to the students’ institution to assist with unmet need in one or
more of the following categories:
ï‚· Tuition/Fees
ï‚· Room/Board
ï‚· Books/Supplies

Michigan Competitive Scholarship

Effective Academic year 2023-24, high school graduates 2023, and greater, will no longer be eligible for the Michigan Competitive Scholarship (MCS).
